# How to Use EBC Reader and SCC Online together to Maximize Your Legal Research

This blog will guide you through how to leverage **EBC Reader** and **SCC Online** together, two powerful legal tools that can help streamline your research process, ensure access to authentic legal content, and enhance your overall study experience.  
  
**The Power of Cross-Linking: How EBC Reader and SCC Online Work Together**

One of the unique features of EBC Reader is its **cross-linking** with SCC Online. This integration allows you to access relevant case law directly from the books and commentaries you are reading without needing to search separately for the cases on other platforms. Here’s how this works and how you can use it to maximize your utility.

Let’s take a practical example of researching a legal concept, such as **International Law**, to understand how you can make the most of both platforms.

**Step 1: Start Your Research in EBC Reader**

Open the **EBC Reader** on your device and begin reading the books or commentaries related to **International Law**. You’ll find a wide variety of volumes and resources on the subject.

**Step 2: Find Citations in the Book**

For example, a particular case might be cited in the book you’re reading related to International Law. Instead of manually searching for these cases online, you can simply click on the citation.

**Step 3: Automatic Cross-Linking to SCC Online**

Once you click on the citation in **EBC Reader**, the system will automatically link you to **SCC Online** (provided you have an active subscription).

**Step 4: Log in to SCC Online**

If prompted, simply log in to **SCC Online** using your credentials. Once logged in, you’ll be able to access the full case details, including judgments, citations, and related case law.

**Step 5: Utilize SCC Online’s Resources**

With the case now open, you can read through the judgment and explore any **related legal commentaries**, **statutory laws**, or **previous case precedents** that may help further clarify the legal principles involved. ****
